1. I thought it was quite difficult to create the Value scale, at least for me. I am a perfectionist and it took me a long time to get to what I would accept to hand in. I thought it was interesting that you could make it darker and darker every time you added a layer of pencil graphite, even past the point where I thought it wouldn’t change anything. The color wheel was easy and fun compared to the value scale except that I had one problem. The cyan that was picked out for me at Hyatt, a art supplies store in Buffalo, was a little bit darker than it showed in the video. I realized this after I had completed my wheel and now my blue looked a little more purple than blue.
2. I enjoyed working with the Color scale more because of its simplicity. You can mix the colors you want together to get a result that you can decide whether it is appropriate or not. I also liked the different colors you could make with different proportions of the paint.
3. My most important discovery in the creation of these projects was the discovery that I couldn’t make an exactly black color. It was more of a dark grey than a black. I thought this was interesting so I did research on the color black and it turns out that you can’t make black by mixing all the colors, supposedly.
4. The most important information I learned from the videos was how to create the scale and the color wheel and then what each is supposed to look like when they are complete. My opinion of the videos is that they were informative and well created. They were also essential in my creation of the scale and the color wheel.
