Logo Design

1. Well I thought that creating my logo was a long and arduous process. My style of creation for my logo in particular takes a long time because very line and pencil stroke has to be steady, well placed and it cannot be done at great speed. I thought the idea of creating a logo was a cool idea and I enjoyed creating mine.
2. Describe the process: creative thinking skills and ideas you used in the logo creation. My logo took a long time to create and then an even longer time to add the element of color to it. The way I created my logo was to draw an outline of the line I wanted to do. You can see the progression of my logo in the slideshow with the finished project being the picture above. You can see the progression of the logo and the way I pieced my logo together. I initially colored in the lines because that was before I realized I had to add the element to color to it. That idea would have changed my drawings because I wouldn’t have actually colored in the lines themselves. When I figured out I had to use color, I made an entirely new edition and I did so by putting tracing paper over my original and, I more or less, traced it  with the colors green, red and blue. Each one is in there spaces for a reason and if you look closely you can see certain symbols that correspond with the colors.
3. The most important discovery I made in creating my logo is just how much I like that style of drawing I did for my logo. I had previously drawn like that and I had enjoyed it but after this, I truly enjoy drawing like that because of its spontaneity. Only a few lines and symbols were planned in my logo and the rest was just creating around those objects so they mesh and fit together. It is almost like a giant puzzle of sorts.
4. What is your opinion of the videos? The most important information I learned from the videos, power points and reading materials is that just how individual each logo is and there are no outlines for creating such logos. There is no simple place to start for each logo is different and has to represent something other than every other symbol that is and ever will be created. My opinion of the videos is that they are useful in that thy make you realize that they are quite useless in a material sense but not in a formatting sense. What I mean by this is that they cannot give you ideas about what to include in your logo, so there material is useless. They can give you the format though and by that I mean that they tell you that you need to find what makes you you and go from there and incorporate it into your logo.
