Video Review

1. I choose those videos because they interested me the most out of all the videos that were there in all honesty. I didn’t choose them because of their length but because of their topics. Michelangelo and his drawings seemed like an interesting topic to look at and Albrecht Durer was one of the greatest renaissance painters
2.
The Drawings of Michelangelo

  • ·       They show that He was a perfectionist and what tools and techniques he uses.
  • ·       He uses the same techniques or the other way around as the artist Ghirlandaio.
  • ·       He taught himself to sculpt, and had a great amount of human anatomy knowledge which culminated in Pieta and David.
  • ·       David was the first colossal marble statue to be sculpted since antiquity.
  • ·       He left behind a lot of preparatory items behind for every work whether it was a painting or a sculpture

Albrecht Durer: Image of a Master

  • ·       He has a gift for portraiture and he is intrigued by the processes of aging.
  • ·       He is considered by many to be the first landscape artist due to his research on perspective and relative size to distance.
  • ·       He mass printed his work in support of Martin Luther

2.  The videos relate to the text because it gives you a deeper understanding of the text and helping you learn the material that much better.  The videos cover the parts of the material in the chapter and it is good supplementary material. These videos help you to understand the processes that some artists underwent.
3. I, personally, enjoyed the films and the added material they provided for the understanding of the material. I would say that they do add depth to the topics discussed in the videos. They give you a greater look at all different aspects of the topic and give you the ability to decide how you feel about the topics.
